10 Jul John Newstreet Unanimously Endorsed by Largest Local Hospitality Organization
Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association follows five other job-creating organizations in choosing Newstreet
Orlando, Fla., (July 10, 2017) – John Newstreet received the endorsement of the CFHLA-PAC and CFHLA-PC in a unanimous decision of the organization consisting of the Central Florida tourism and hospitality organization.
In the special election for State House District 44, Newstreet has received every endorsement issued by organizations responsible for keeping Florida’s economy strong by creating jobs.
“Throughout this campaign, I have been consistently humbled by the outpouring of support given to my campaign,” Newstreet says. “I determined to go to Tallahassee and focus on growing our economy and look forward to working with the leaders of CFHLA and the other groups who have also endorsed this campaign.”
CHFLA-PAC and CFHLA-PC represent the thousands of hotel owners and operators, attractions and companies who support tourism in the tri-county region. District 44 include most of the Central Florida tourism corridor.
In its endorsement letter, CFHLA-PAC stated: “Your support of Central Florida’s Hospitality Industry and commitment to fight for VISIT FLORIDA and protect the Tourist Development Tax was well-received by CFHLA Members, and as such, the CFHLA-PAC and PC Boards unanimously voted to endorse your campaign.”
Newstreet is a businessman, conservative and only veteran running in the Florida House of Representatives seat vacated by Eric Eisnaugle, who resigned upon being appointed to the Florida Judiciary.
Newstreet is an executive with a local chamber of commerce, a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, the former chairman of the Orange County Young Republicans and a homeowner in the district since 2008. He has also advocated for Florida’s veterans as the former state director of the American Legion and during his work with the offices of both U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and Marco Rubio. He resides in the Dr. Philips area where he attends Holy Family Catholic Church.
