John Newstreet Endorsed by Political Arm of West Orange Chamber of Commerce

First-time candidate wins first debate and is chosen by business leaders as the best choice to represent District 44

Orlando, Fla., (June 23, 2017) – John Newstreet, who launched his first campaign for elected office just one month ago, has received the endorsement of the West Orange Political Alliance.

The West Orange Political Alliance, Inc. is recognized as the political arm of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, formed to provide an active political voice in the interests of West Orange County. Its members include many of the top business leaders in the West Orange region, the heart of District 44.

“From the time I was first encouraged to run, to today, the support I’ve received from voters and from the community has been humbling,” Newstreet said.  “Receiving the vote of confidence from this esteemed group of leaders in the district continues the significant momentum of this campaign.”

Newstreet is a conservative running in the Florida House of Representatives seat vacated by Eric Eisnaugle, who resigned upon being appointed to the Florida Judiciary.

Newstreet is an executive with a local chamber of commerce, a veteran, the former chairman of the Orange County Young Republicans and a homeowner in the district since 2008.  He has also advocated for Florida’s veterans as the former state director of the American Legion and during his work with the offices of both U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and Marco Rubio.  He resides in the Dr. Philips area where he attends Holy Family Catholic Church.

The primary special election for House District 44 will be on Tuesday, August 15.
